iPod Touch 5G will be driven out of the market?

On Monday, New York-based tech journalist Karsten Strauss updated his blog on forbes.com, claiming that iPod touch will ultimately be driven out of the market for offering at a higher price almost the same features as iPhone 5. Apple unveiled iPhone 5 on September 12th, and alongside announced the new iPod touch and iPod nano. Yet it may not be long before iPod touch becomes obsolete, since iPhone 5 offers so many features of iPod touch, and actually even more additional features that are not available on iPod touch so far. As Apple iPhone 5, iPod touch 5th generation comes with the same 4-inch Retina display, is powered by iOS 6, can be used to surf the web and check emails, and have a calendar app and a map app. iPhone 5 starts at $199 in the U.S., while iPod touch at $299. Why should customers go for an iPod touch when they can get a more powerful iPhone for less? Compared with iPod touch, iPod nano makes a lot more sense – it's a pure music player in a very small size. It comes with a 16GB capacity that can hold lots of tunes, and even a built-in pedometer for joggers. For those genuine music lovers, the versatile features on iPhone and iPod touch actually turn out to be deterrent, especially when they're working out at a gym. The sales of iPod touch to date suggest that this device is not yet on its way out, though. Since iPod touch was introduced in 2007, more than 46 million devices have been sold, generating over $10 million in revenue. 2010 and 2011 witnessed a downward trend in the sales figures of iPod touch, but this trend can possibly be turned around by this year's revamp of the product. http://www.ipodtouch5thgeneration.info/
